What is a kidney?
Unlike other organs, the kidneys are located on each side of the left and right sides, so there are two kidneys in total, also called kidneys. Then why is the name kidney? That's because it looks like a kidney bean, which is actually smaller than a kidney bean. There are also differences in size for each person, and there are some differences depending on gender. Usually, men are 10cm long, 5cm wide, and 3cm thick, and women are 9cm long, 5cm wide, and 3cm thick. Of course, individual differences exist, and they are the average adult standard.
Good food for the kidneys
1. Clean water
Water is the most important drink for the body. Cells in the body use water to carry toxins into the bloodstream.
The kidneys then use water to filter out these toxins and make urine that carries them out of the body. This function of the kidneys can be supported by drinking clean water.
2. Asparagus
Saponin and glycoside components of asparagus help prevent urinary stones by releasing waste products from the body and purifying blood.
3. Pumpkin
Pumpkin, known as an excellent food for removing swelling, also plays a role in suppressing inflammation in the body, preventing edema and helping kidney function through diuretic action.
4. Cucumber
Cucumber is one of the foods that is good for the kidneys because it contains a lot of moisture and has a low potassium content. Sufficient moisture in cucumbers helps to remove waste matter from the body and prevent edema caused by nephritis.
5. Red beans
Kidney-like red beans induce active diuretic action in our body and help to remove swelling and prevent chronic nephritis by releasing unnecessary moisture.
6. Hibiscus
Hibiscus, a flower dedicated to God, is a good food for the kidneys. Quercetin helps release uric acid and sodium and helps prevent kidney stones.
7. Cinnamon
Cinnamon is a medicine that nourishes the kidneys. It controls blood sugar and keeps your kidneys healthy. It has a spicy scent and warm properties that dilates blood vessels and raises body temperature. It helps blood circulation to the microvascular system smoothly.
8. Nuts
Nuts are rich in essential fatty acids, amino acids, and antioxidants, which strengthen kidney health. Eating an appropriate amount every day helps prevent inflammatory diseases and reduces the risk of early aging.
