Types of dramas and how to write scenarios

What is a drama?

Dramas have two meanings. It refers to a type of film or television that deals with serious and often negative emotions in modern pop culture. To put it funny, it's the opposite of comedy. Dramas only refer to movies and television, not fiction or other purely written forms of art.

Dramas in the past (until the rise of Hollywood) had a completely different meaning. It is usually a play, but it is a variety of fictional performances such as skits, vaudeville, and musicals. Everything with an actor is considered a drama. It's even. This definition is still used occasionally (for example, "drama class"), but is much less common than other definitions. This old definition also affects more modern definitions. Modern dramas are often delayed on the screen. This is why fiction cannot be a drama.

Type of drama

Hollywood has been making plays for decades and is a very diverse group, but many of them fall into several broad categories.

One. Romantic

The story deals with relationships and various conflicts and complications arising from them. Romance dramas can be very exciting and certainly not suitable for a young audience.

Two. Thriller/Action

Thriller and action movies are very popular, especially in the form of movies. Spectators gather to watch explosions, stylized violence, and screaming car chases. The story is not exactly "emotional" in a typical sense, but it is certainly very dramatic.

3. A crime drama

Shows like CSI and Law and Order have made these crime dramas very popular with modern audiences. The story focuses on crime and police and detective efforts to solve it. In the process, the character's personal struggles begin to emerge and sometimes conflict with police work.

4. History

Abraham Lincoln lost his 11-year-old son, Willy, during the Civil War, and the Celtic queen, Budika, avenged the blood of Roman soldiers who attacked and killed her child. This colorful story inspires writers and filmmakers.

How to Write a Drama Screenplay

Start with a character. The best plays are generally character-oriented. They chose the main character (usually less than 10 people) and a small number of supporting characters. All of these characters should be very different from each other, and the protagonist should be realistic and realistic. In this way, the audience can empathize with them and be interested in what happened to them.

Every story revolves around conflict, especially in dramas. Conflict can be anything. The simplest examples are political conflict or war. However, there may also be competitive love relationships, personality conflicts, or struggles with misfortune.

Don't forget the comic relief. Unless you write tragedy (see verse 6), the play should have at least humor. Otherwise, negative emotions will be overwhelmed and the reader's experience will be too unpleasant. Relax by adding funny lines to your character or adding funny situations. Make sure that cartoonish chants come out naturally, not infused into the story.

When to Use the Drama

Dramas are suitable for creative writing projects. Provides the opportunity to learn character development, story structure, and completely different writing techniques. Sometimes even an official appeal can find a place to watch the show, but be careful.

For example, historical articles can be read more interestingly if they are trimmed with "dramatic" eyes that contrast the characters' various desires and fully depict the conflict at the center of the story. These techniques, combined with good research and persuasive logic, can make a good paper a good one. But you have to be careful. Too much drama in a formal newspaper can start distracting you and I don't want to give you the impression that you're focusing on entertainment value rather than research and analysis.
